Data Acquisitions Strategies: Six sigma and beyond

Who should attend?

Managers, engineers, area managers, and project leaders involved in
using proactively acquired data to improve process performance. The course is specifically designed to create organizational leaders who can sustain improvement initiatives within the organization.

Key Benefits

Many organizations have invested heavily in training individuals in statistical methodology commonly termed “six sigma”.  In order to truly reap the benefits of these tools and techniques, organizations must use critical thinking methodologies at a systems level as opposed to a process level.

The faculty that developed this course have over 18 years of six sigma training and implementation experience. They use the knowledge gained from this experience to teach individuals to go beyond the use of a pre-defined roadmap and a checklist of tools. Participants will be taught to utilize their statistical knowledge and technical expertise, to be leaders of improvement efforts within the organization.

The primary objective of this two-week course is to equip key individuals with the skills to effectively acquire, interpret, and act on information from a process or product. The course does not focus on the analysis of a given set of data; rather it focuses on how to efficiently and effectively acquire the data to learn the most from the process. While the course does cover the basic concepts of six sigma, it goes beyond DMAIC and statistical tools.
